Featured Image: Our 2002-2016 Labor Day weekends at Camp Merrie-Woode were awesome.
We were first invited to join Beth’s sister Ann, our brother-in-law Chuck and their girls for a multi-family get-together at Camp Merrie-Woode in Sapphire, North Carolina, in the fall of 2002. Five other families from the Boone area were part of this wonderful experience, staying at the camp lodge called High Heaven. While we never knew how long the tradition would carry on, we savored each gathering. The upcoming edition of Rare Air features footage I shot in 2016, representing the bookend of that wonderful era.
