A month from now, we’ll celebrate the arrival of a whole new decade. Time is moving right along, carrying us on into experiences we never imagined, with occasional relapses. For my Rare Air series, the main goal is creating an immersion into nature; the footage capture date is just a footnote.

Of course, on this side, all the temporal and geophysical details leading up to activating the camera shutter are semiprecious… so I am apt to attempt to flesh them out.

In the days to come, this humble original series will showcase some more unique facets of the lovely places we have been so lucky to visit in the past – and certainly, some that – at this moment – are mere names on a wish list. For me, there is some magic in weaving together the past, the present, and the future… into something approaching greatness.

I hope you’ll enjoy this scene from our 2017 trip to St. John, and that you’ll return soon for more Rare Air.
